📈 Exports rose 16.3% year-on-year, now accounting for 0.9% of Türkiye's total exports. The top destination was Norway with $325.9 million, followed by Denmark ($172.8M), Greece ($164.4M), Marshall Islands ($163.6M), and the UAE ($139.2M).

⚓ "We might even exceed $2 billion in exports for the first time in our history," said Cem Seven, President of the Turkish Ship, Yacht and Marine Services Exporters' Association (GYHİB).

Seven said the sector is on track to break its annual record of $1.94 billion. He noted that this success reflects Türkiye's strong delivery performance and long-term partnerships, with many of today's shipments coming from orders placed 12–48 months ago.

🌱 Green Maritime Technologies Leadership

Seven also emphasized Türkiye's growing expertise in green maritime technologies, including:

  • LNG systems for cleaner fuel alternatives
  • Hybrid-electric propulsion systems
  • Energy recovery solutions for improved efficiency

These advancements align with the International Maritime Organization's 2050 zero-emission target, positioning Türkiye as a forward-thinking player in sustainable shipbuilding.

🏗️ Competitive Advantages in Shipbuilding

Türkiye's shipbuilding industry benefits from several key strengths:

  • Solid local supply chains reducing dependency on imports
  • Advanced research and development capabilities
  • Close cooperation between universities, design offices, and shipyards
  • Proven track record of delivering complex vessels on time

This integrated approach enhances Türkiye's competitive edge in sustainable shipbuilding and positions the country for continued growth in the global maritime market.

🌍 Strategic Market Expansion

The industry continues to focus on Northern Europe, while expanding into new markets through strategic initiatives:

  • Canada - Emerging market with growth potential
  • Gulf countries - Luxury yacht and commercial vessel opportunities
  • Middle Eastern markets - Expanding presence through digital promotion

Digital promotion initiatives are playing a crucial role in reaching these new markets and showcasing Türkiye's shipbuilding capabilities to international clients.

Industry Outlook: With current growth trends and a strong order pipeline, the Turkish ship and yacht industry is positioned to exceed $2 billion in exports for the first time in history, setting a new milestone for the country's maritime sector.
