An unusual mosque will be built in Turkey

An unusual mosque will be built in Turkey

A mosque is being built in the form of a crescent with a star in the Turkish Republic. This will be the first and so far the only cult institution that is executed in the form of one of the oldest symbols of Islam.

The mosque will be named Ayyildiz Camii, and its already 80% complete – the construction of it is planned to be done by the end of this year.

The mosque is located in the center of Anatolia, in the city of Sivas. After the construction, about 8 thousand people can stay in the mosque at the same time.

We note that tens of new mosques are appearing every year in the country, but there is no mosque in the form of a crescent with a star. The Ottoman Empire began using the flag with a star and a crescent on a red background in the 19th century.
