In Turkey, 9-day holidays have been declared for Ramadan Bayram

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, announced that the holiday for Ramadan Bayram in 2025 will last 9 days. The holiday will be celebrated on March 30, 31, and April 1, with April 2, 3, and 4 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) declared administrative holidays for public servants.

This decision will allow families to spend more time together and take advantage of the opportunity to travel, especially since school holidays coincide with the celebration.

What is Ramadan Bayram?

Ramadan Bayram (also known as Şeker Bayram in Turkey) is one of the main Islamic holidays marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. On this day, Muslims perform special prayers, visit family and friends, offer assistance to those in need, and hold family feasts. In Turkey, the holiday is also associated with the tradition of giving sweets to children, which is why it is often referred to as the "Holiday of Sweets."
