Turkey Seeks Removal of Tariffs on Exports to the U.S.

Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced Turkey’s intention to discuss the removal of 10% tariffs on Turkish exports to the U.S. during negotiations with American officials. The talks will take place in May during Bolat’s visit to Washington for the Turkish-American Conference.

The minister emphasized that Turkey is among the countries least affected by U.S. trade policy but insists on the complete removal of the tariffs. Ankara plans to increase exports to the U.S. in sectors such as textiles, ready-made clothing, and machinery, aiming to develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
