AI-Powered Platform to Learn Turkish Globally in 2026

AI-Powered Platform to Learn Turkish Globally in 2026

Turkish Language Meets AI: Yunus Emre Institute Prepares a Global Learning Platform

The Turkish language is entering a new technological era. The Yunus Emre Institute has announced plans to launch an artificial intelligence–powered platform for learning Turkish in 2026, aiming to make the language more accessible, personalized, and engaging for learners worldwide.

According to the Institute’s President, Professor Abdurrahman Aliy, the initiative marks a strategic shift toward digitally driven language education.

“Our goal is to teach Turkish to the world with the help of artificial intelligence,” he said in an interview with Anadolu Agency.

The upcoming AI platform will combine cutting-edge technology with the Institute’s long-standing expertise in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The system is expected to adapt to each learner’s level, pace, and goals, creating a more effective and motivating learning experience.

A Global Network of Language and Culture

Today, the Yunus Emre Institute operates 93 cultural centers in 69 countries, forming one of Turkey’s most extensive networks of cultural diplomacy. In 2025 alone, approximately 26,000 learners studied Turkish through both in-person and online programs.

Special emphasis is placed on younger audiences. Key initiatives include:

  • “My Choice is Turkish”: More than 22,000 school students abroad studied Turkish as an elective or compulsory foreign language.
  • The Turkology Project: Continued support for academic departments and training future specialists in Turkish language and culture.

Culture as a Gateway

Culture remains a powerful gateway to language learning. In 2025, the Institute organized over 1,000 cultural events worldwide, ranging from exhibitions and panel discussions to concerts and theater performances. One of the flagship projects, “Anatolian Winds: Turkish Jazz,” toured 11 cities across six Balkan countries, blending Anatolia’s musical heritage with the universal language of jazz.

Looking to the Future

Looking ahead, the Yunus Emre Institute will co-host the Second Baku Congress on Turkology on February 26, 2026. The event will take place at the historic Ismailiyya Palace in Baku—exactly 100 years after the first Turkology Congress held at the same venue.

With the launch of its AI-powered learning platform, the expansion of educational programs, and a strong cultural agenda, the Yunus Emre Institute continues to strengthen its global influence and shape the future of Turkish language education in a digital, forward-looking world.
