Turkey E-Commerce Week: $90B Sector & Future-Commerce

Türkiye Launches E-Commerce Week in Istanbul, Spotlighting "Future-Commerce"

Istanbul will host Türkiye E-Commerce Week starting this Friday, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers under the theme "Future-Commerce." The two-day event aims to shape the country's digital trade vision while highlighting AI, innovation, and emerging market trends.

Event Organization and Format

Organised by the Trade Ministry, the Electronic Commerce Operators Association (ETID), and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), the event will feature:

  • Panels and masterclasses
  • Workshops and exhibitions
  • Experience zones
  • Startup-to-business (S2B) meetings

Attendees will explore success stories from Türkiye and abroad, entrepreneurial breakthroughs, AI-driven opportunities, and the broader impact of digital transformation.

Türkiye Shopping Festival Launch

A major highlight: Türkiye will launch its own "Türkiye Shopping Festival" in November, offering strong discounts across the country—moving away from international shopping events like Black Friday.

"Consumers can shop without time or location limits, and producers can easily sell domestically and internationally thanks to e-commerce."

Sector Growth Statistics

Türkiye's e-commerce sector is booming: $90 billion in volume in 2024, 5.9 billion transactions, and now accounting for 19.1% of all trade—meaning one in every five commercial transactions happens online.

Strategic Objectives

The event and festival aim to:

  • Boost sector awareness
  • Strengthen SMEs
  • Attract new participants
  • Spotlight emerging concepts like AI and sustainable digital commerce

E-commerce Volume: $90B | Transactions: 5.9B | Market Share: 19.1% | Theme: Future-Commerce

The initiative represents a significant step in positioning Türkiye as a leading digital commerce hub and fostering innovation in the sector.
