No Increase in Gas and Electricity Tariffs in Turkey in February
Turkey’s energy authorities, after analyzing rising costs and current market conditions, have decided not to raise electricity or natural gas tariffs during February.
According to the information received, existing tariffs will remain unchanged for residential, commercial, and industrial consumers, helping to avoid additional financial pressure during the winter season.
Electricity Prices Stay the Same
Under this decision, current electricity tariffs will remain in effect. For all consumer categories—including households, businesses, and industrial facilities—the cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in February will stay at the same level.
No Increase in Natural Gas Prices
Similarly, natural gas prices will not change. Wholesale tariffs set by BOTAŞ, as well as retail prices for households, will remain stable throughout February.
Relief for Family Budgets During Winter
This decision is especially significant during the peak heating season. Keeping tariffs unchanged allows citizens to plan their expenses without the risk of sudden utility bill increases, which is particularly important for families and small businesses.
The measure is seen as a socially oriented policy to support the population amid seasonal cost increases.
New Tariff Period Starts February 1
The regulation, maintaining the current tariffs, will take effect on February 1 and will apply throughout the month without any changes.
Note: Tariffs are subject to monthly review. This announcement pertains specifically to the month of February. Consumers should monitor official announcements from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) and BOTAŞ for future updates.
