Unique ancient coins found in Turkey!

The unique ancient coins were found in the Turkish province of Kars.

And they were discovered by accident – a worker of one of the firms who was making a tunnel to support the power lines in the village of Chiaras discovered it.

The coins depict the face of Jesus Christ. In total, 44 coins were found and they are assuming that they are from the Middle Age period. A local gendarmerie was notified of the valuable find. Now, the coins are sent to the archaeological museum of Kars for more detailed study.

Similar ancient finds are quite common in Turkey. For example, not that long ago, a local resident dug a hole in his garden and accidentally stumbled upon a mosaic whic was more than 1,500 years old in the province of Adana.
