Turkish food to find its way onto world menus with master chefs

The Turkish government has taken action to promote the delicious flavors of Turkish cuisine to the world. Under the context of gastronomy tourism, world-renowned chefs will be invited to Turkey to serve as trademark envoys to promote Turkish cuisine. The guest chefs will then return home and integrate Turkish plates into their menus in renowned restaurants across the world.

With the projects conducted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Turkey will step into a new age of gastronomy tourism, and the country will soon realize its new tourism vision.

In the first step, famous chefs will be invited to the country to promote Turkish cuisine in the international arena as trademark envoys. The Turkish dishes will leave their marks on the menus of the most famous restaurants around the world. In addition, studies will be conducted to sync global trends with Turkish cuisine during the gastronomy training in Turkey.

Under this context, product design entrepreneurships by the new generation chefs will be supported. Original and authentic recipes will be protected by increasing the number of products with geographical indication (GI). As a result, projects promoting Istanbul as a powerful touristic destination with rich history, culture and gastronomic values will also attract more attention.
