Turkish bankers: we will calculate everything ourselves

The national credit rating agency wants to set up in Turkey.
This was stated by the head of the Turkish Agency of Bank Regulation and Supervision (BDDK), Mehmet Ali Akben.
According to him, the domestic rating agency will be able to quickly reflect the economic situation in the country and will not depend on international agencies.
It is planned that the creation of a national agency will begin this year. It will comply with generally accepted international norms, while the objective assessment of the situation in the economic sector of Turkey will affect the inflow of foreign investment.
“At the moment, many investors are guided by the reports of international agencies, but they don’t always correctly reflect the real situation in the economy of our country. We ourselves can count and give forecasts,” Akben mentioned.
