Turkey will replace cars older than 16 years!

In Turkey, every third passenger car, which is operated by local residents, was released before 2001.
Meaning, there are a huge number of cars older than 16 years on the road, which significantly affects the safety of both passengers, drivers, and pedestrians.
Caused by this fact, the government is preparing a new bill that will be aimed encouraging the population to purchase new cars. According to the bill, anyone who surrenders the old car (made before 2001) will be able to get up to 10 thousand Lira for the purchase of a new car.
“The car owners with a service life for 16 years and more, when buying a new car, they will receive tax relief. We are talking about the consumer tax (ÖTV), which is paid while purchasing a new car and depends on the volume of the engine.” Said the head of the Ministry of Finance of Turkey, Naji Agbal.
