Turkey will issue new passports!

Turkey will issue new biometric passports starting from April this year. The possibility of obtaining new documents is one of the conditions that a country must fulfill in order to obtain the right to simplify the visa regime with the countries of the European Union.

In total, the agreement on simplifying the visa regime has more than 70 criteria. Turkey has seven more to fulfill, after which the relevant documents will be submitted to the Council of the European Union, as well as the European Parliament. If the agreement is approved, the citizens of Turkey will have the opportunity to visit most of the EU countries without visas, for up to 90 days.

If the EU approves the agreement with Turkey, the list of countries that can be visited without visas are: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland and Estonia.
