Turkey Telegram Bot Scam: Intimate Photos Stolen & Sold

Turkey Warns of Fraudulent Telegram Bot That Collected Intimate Photos Under the Pretext of "Attractiveness Ratings"

A fraudulent Telegram bot targeting users in Turkey has been taken down after reports revealed it was collecting intimate photos under the guise of providing a "professional sexuality score".

How the Scheme Operated

The bot invited users to submit nude or semi-nude photos and pay 100 Telegram Stars in exchange for a so-called "expert assessment" — a score out of 100 and brief advice allegedly from stylists or fitness trainers.

In reality, the feedback consisted of generic comments such as:

  • "Improve your abs"
  • "Work on your chest"
  • "Tone your body"

None of the operators had any qualifications related to fitness, aesthetics or psychology.

Who Was Behind the Bot

Following multiple user complaints, investigators discovered that the bot was run by two Rwandan nationals operating from Kosovo, who targeted Turkish Telegram users with paid ads.

According to reports, the operators:

  • converted Telegram Stars into cash,
  • blackmailed married men using their own photos,
  • earned around $500 per week by reselling the collected images of Turkish women to private migrant chat groups.

Outcome

The bot was removed after numerous complaints, and both individuals are now reportedly wanted by police.

Key Takeaway

Authorities and cybersecurity experts stress that no online "beauty expert" or anonymous evaluation service can guarantee privacy.

Submitting intimate photos to unknown platforms almost always carries a high risk of misuse, extortion or data theft.

Users are urged to protect their personal data and avoid sharing sensitive content with unverified digital services.
