Turkey sold 380 million bouquets abroad

Floriculture is one of the most promising branches of agriculture in Turkey.

This was stated by the head of the Union of Exporters of Ornamental Plants of Central Anatolia, Osman Bagdatlioglu.

Some of the flowers grown in Turkey are exported. Over the past year, the country sold 380 million bouquets abroad. This year, the figure is planned to increase to 400 million which will bring about 100 million $ income.

“Of course we are not only selling our flowers to other countries. On various holidays, the local residents increase the purchase of flowers dramatically. But still, exporting flowers is a big an important part of our work.” Bagdatlioglu mentions.

Dozens of species of various plants are grown in Turkey. And thanks to the warm climate, the flowers grow here all year round.
