High-speed trains in Türkiye reach 110 million passengers

Since the launch of Türkiye's high-speed rail network, around 110 million passengers have traveled on high-speed trains, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced. The network now spans 2,251 km.

🚆 110 million and counting: Türkiye's YHT (Yüksek Hızlı Tren) network has carried 110M passengers since the first line opened in 2009.

📅 Route milestones

The first line, Ankara–Eskişehir, opened on March 13, 2009, and alone has carried 21.4 million passengers, making Eskişehir a key railway hub. New routes followed, including:

  • Ankara–Konya (2011)
  • Konya–Istanbul and Ankara–Istanbul (2014)
  • Karaman–Ankara/Istanbul (2022)
  • Ankara–Sivas (2023)
  • Sivas–Istanbul (2024)
