Today Nowruz starts in Turkey

Today, on March 21st, Nowruz is celebrated in Turkey and many other Muslim countries.

This day is a significant holiday – the day of the spring equinox, a peculiar New Year, marking the awakening of nature, the beginning of spring. The name of the holiday, which is already thousands of years old, is translated as a “new day”.

On this day, it is customary to invite guests, decorate your house, forgive debts and forget your grievances in Turkey. This is a fun, family holiday, when close people gather at the same table and also, girls arrange fortune telling in Nawruz.

Also, various festive events will be held on this day in Turkey, performances of artists, sports competitions, etc… It’s a day where people help the needy.
