Today is the International Children's Book Day

Today, the children’s book day is celebrated all over the world. Within the framework of it, various events are held in Turkey: all of the libraries of the country have prepared special programs such as meetings with children’s favorite writers.

According to the statement of The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, installing the love of reading to a child at an early age is one of the main tasks of education for the younger generation.

“Our nation must be reading, our children must be literate,” the Turkish leader underlined.

The international children’s book day is celebrated on April 2nd, because the great storyteller from Denmark, Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was born on this day.
