In general, the work of the new airport is 80% complete. Until the middle of the summer, all the necessary equipment will be installed, after which the testing ıf the systems – takeoffs and landings of aircraft will begin.
The official opening of the 3rd Istanbul Airport is scheduled for the end of October. By 2023, the airport will operate at full capacity.
By the way, it’s already noted that many transit routes, which previously passed through other countries, will pass through Turkey after the launch of the third Airport. Air companies pre-contract with the administration of the world’s largest harbor.
