The third airport of Istanbul launched its first aircraft

The first test was conducted at the new airport of Istanbul. The aircraft carried out test flights to check the runway, as well as test the operation of all systems.

According to the General Administration of State Airports of Turkey (DHMI), the tests for takeoff and landing were successful, all the mechanisms work flawlessly. Also, the agency reports that the airport is 90% built. The grand opening of the new harbor is scheduled for October 25th, 2018.

The third Istanbul airport will become one of the largest airports in the world. After its opening, Ataturk Airport will cease its work and all of the departures will be made from the new air harbor.
