New rules for money carriage to Turkey

Currently, it is permissible to carry an unlimited amount of money to Turkey. The decision to simplify the customs control procedure was adopted in the Customs Ministry of Turkey. According to the former laws, it was necessary to declare the amounts exceeding the mark of 10.000 Euro. Herewith, if the declaration is filled incorrectly, the tourist could be suspected in money-washing and what is worse in terrorist financing. Currently, the restriction was removed and the tourists can carry any amount of money to the territory of the republic. According to the report of the ministry, “cash money as well as other resources of international capital may freely “pass” through customs gates”. Currently, the travelers may adopt decisions for themselves which amount they declare at the customs. But to be honest, if it becomes clear that the amount differs from the real one, the breaker can be imposed with a fine.
