No smoking! New amendments to the law about smoking

Amendments to the law on smoking cessation have been prepared in the Turkish Republic.

In particular, it is planned that only people who have reached the age of 21 will be able to sell and purchase tobacco products. Also, changes will be made to the territorial position about the points with cigarette sales. According to the amendments, it will only be possible to sell tobacco products if the shop/institution is 500 m away from educational institutions, schools and other buildings where children take place.

The amendments were prepared by the Ministry of Health of Turkey. In the near future, they will be submitted to the parliament for discussion. If the amendments are approved, the changes in the law will take effect.
