24/04/12 Gazipasa ADOPTS INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

April 20 at 08:15, the first international flight from Amsterdam has landed at the airport of Gazipasa. Airplane of "Corendon" company with 189 passengers, made its first charter flight from Amsterdam Gazipasa.
This is a great and joyful event for the residents of Alanya and often travelling tourists. The reception of first passengers caused the failure of computer systems at border control, and tourists came out of the terminal, only at 10:45. But one of the passengers Christian van Daisen said: "Such a great event, can not overshadow a small problem."
Coordinator of "Corendon" company Nihat Demirkan said: "Direct Flights economically beneficial both for the company and for passengers. Now, all the passengers coming to Alanya, do not have to spend extra time on the bus Antalya-Alanya".
Director of TAV Murat Shen said: "Airport of Gazipasa every day is increasing the potential development of the sphere of tourism and employment sector."
According to the regional director of "Corendon" Levent Candan: "We are reaping the fruits of our long-term work. We have known, the fact that foreign nationals living here, and the tourists who come to spend here long time express their wishes in regard to the airport in Gazipasa. We plan to increase the number of flights - from 2 times a week to 3”.
April 25, the company "Transavia" plans to start their flights. According to the Director of Tourism Development in Alanya Fa'iq Melik Kaptanoglu: "through out the season “Korendon" has flights on Fridays and Tuesdays. Next in line is "Transavia" company. If they get permission, then April 25 the flight 737-700 can carry out their landing in Gazipasa. Also waiting for the approval of flight are the companies: Jet Air, Sas Air ve S?rbistan Jat Air. Over the time all permits will be obtained.
A camper from Holland Christian van Daisen: "It’s been 5-6 years that I come to Alanya and stay for a long period here. Previously, I was flying a small plane at the airport in Gazipasa. I'm going to keep using the services of the airport. There were small problems because of passport but to me, this little problem didn’t not mar such a big breakthrough".
