New rules for Turkish residence permit holders

There is good news for holders of a residence permit in Turkey. The law on long-term stay of foreign citizens within the republic has been amended, coming into force in two months. If earlier in the absence of ikamet in Turkey for more than 120 days, the document was invalidated, now the rule has been abolished. Holders of the residence permit may not worry and stay in the homeland as much as they want. The document will be valid in any case.
The innovations also apply to holders of family ikamets. Previously, foreigners married to Turkish citizens were restricted in staying in the homeland up to 180 days a year. This was the time limit after which the effect of the residence permit was suspended. Henceforth, these restrictions are also lifted.
Let us remember that recently the government issued a decree stating that now it is possible to execute a short-term residence permit for 2 years, and the family one - for 3 years.
