Germany leads Turkish automotive exports in record February

İSTANBUL – Türkiye’s automotive industry, the country’s top export sector, achieved its highest-ever February sales, reaching $3.54 billion, according to the Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OİB).

📈 Record February — Exports reached $3.54 billion, a 19% increase compared to February last year. The sector now accounts for 16.8% of Türkiye’s total exports.

Top export markets

Germany remained Türkiye’s largest automotive market, with exports totaling $544 million. France followed with $459 million, marking a 45% year‑on‑year increase, while Italy ranked third at $338 million, up 31%.

🇪🇺 EU surge — Exports to European Union countries surged 25% to $2.69 billion, highlighting the sector’s strong ties with the European market.

Performance by product group

  • Supplier industry: $1.35 billion (+10%)
  • Passenger cars: $1 billion (+9%)
  • Commercial vehicles: $654 million (+36%)
  • Buses, minibuses, midibuses: $327 million (+55%)
  • Tractor-trailers: $172 million (+48%)
🗣️ OİB Chairman Baran Çelik praised the milestone:

"We recorded the highest February exports in our history, with growth across all major product groups. This performance proves the Turkish automotive industry’s agility within the global supply chain."

The results underscore Türkiye’s rising role as a key player in the global automotive market, driven by innovation, strong European demand, and a diverse product range.
