The Soviet spacecraft "Kosmos-482" has re-entered the Earth's atmosphere and fallen into the Indian Ocean.

The Soviet spacecraft

Launched in 1972 for the purpose of Venus exploration, the spacecraft was unable to reach its goal due to a malfunction in the booster, leaving it in a high elliptical orbit around Earth. After more than 50 years in space, the spacecraft gradually approached the planet. Specialists from TsNIImash, part of Roscosmos, reported that the spacecraft re-entered the Earth's atmosphere at 9:24 AM Moscow time, located 560 km west of the Middle Andaman Island, and fell into the Indian Ocean waters near Jakarta.

The descent of the spacecraft was monitored by the Automated Warning System for Dangerous Situations in Near-Earth Space, ensuring the successful completion of the mission.

As is often the case, some channels inflated the significance of this event, attempting to spark panic among the public. Always rely on verified sources and don't trust those who try to grab your attention with baseless fear!
