🚨 Drone strike on Nakhchivan airport

According to official reports, a kamikaze drone struck Nakhchivan airport, damaging the terminal. Another drone fell near a school in the village of Shekerabad, raising concerns about threats to civilian infrastructure.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense stated that the attack targeted civilian infrastructure and had no military necessity.

🔍 Azerbaijan holds Iran responsible — The Ministry of Defense confirmed the drones were launched from Iranian territory, holding Iran fully accountable. The statement emphasized Azerbaijan’s readiness to protect its territorial integrity, sovereignty, and citizens, warning that such attacks would not go unanswered.
🗣️ Aliyev: “We are not operating against Iran” — President Aliyev clarified that Azerbaijan is not conducting any military operations against Iran but expects formal apologies for the incident. The military has been instructed to remain on high alert.

📞 Phone call between Aliyev and Erdoğan

Following the attack, Aliyev spoke by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Erdoğan condemned the drone strike against civilian infrastructure, expressed support for Azerbaijan, and extended condolences to the victims.
