Kuwait, Turkey sign agreements in military, tourism and Syrian refugee crisis

Kuwait and Turkey on Tuesday signed a vast array of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to boost bilateral cooperation in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, currently on a visit to Ankara.

The two countries signed memoranda on cooperation in the military field, Islamic affairs and tourism. The Turkish government and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) also signed a grant agreement for a response plan to the Syrian refugee crisis in the Turkish provinces of Gaziantep, Kilis and Sanliurfa. 

The Turkish president and Emir of Kuwait had earlier held a round of talks, during which they reviewed bilateral ties and the latest regional and international developments. Emir of Kuwait had arrived Monday in Turkey on an official visit.
