OpenAI has raised $40 billion in investments at a valuation of $300 billion

The American company OpenAI has raised $40 billion in investments at a valuation of $300 billion, marking the largest private tech funding round in history. This was announced in the company's official statement.

According to OpenAI, the raised funds will be directed towards further development of artificial intelligence technologies, which will strengthen the company's position in the market and continue to implement cutting-edge AI solutions.

Thus, OpenAI's valuation has doubled compared to the previous funding round in October 2024, when the company raised $6.6 billion at a valuation of $157 billion.

The new funding round has become the largest in the history of the tech sector. With a market valuation of $300 billion, OpenAI has entered the ranks of the most valuable private companies in the world.

According to U.S. media, the funding leader was the Japanese company SoftBank, with investors including Microsoft, Coatue, Altimeter, and Thrive. These companies actively support OpenAI's development and its pursuit of leadership in the field of artificial intelligence.

Earlier, on January 22, OpenAI joined the private investment project Stargate, valued at $500 billion, aimed at developing artificial intelligence infrastructure.
