Compensation for flight delays has been introduced in Turkey

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that passengers will be entitled to monetary compensation if their flight is delayed for more than 3 hours.

The compensation amounts are as follows:

  • Domestic flights: 100 €
  • International flights:
  • Up to 1500 km: 250 €
  • From 1500 to 3500 km: 400 €
  • Over 3500 km: 600 €

The compensation will be converted into Turkish lira based on the euro selling exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Turkey on the day of payment.

This decision aims to protect passenger rights and improve the service quality of airlines.
