As of 2026, Turkey has introduced significantly higher traffic fines. Even small mistakes on the road can now hit your wallet hard.

⚠️ WARNING Traffic violations in Turkey have become very expensive, and serious offenses can lead to losing your license for months.

📏 Speeding in Urban Areas

  • +6–10 km/h → 2,000 TL
  • +11–15 km/h → 4,000 TL
  • +16–25 km/h → 6,000 TL
  • +26–35 km/h → 12,000 TL
  • +36–45 km/h → 16,000 TL
  • +46–55 km/h → 20,000 TL
  • +56–65 km/h → 24,000 TL
  • +66 km/h and above → 30,000 TL + license suspension for 90 days

Repeated serious speeding violations — maximum fine + license suspension.

🚦 Running a Red Light (within a year)

  • 1st offense → 1,000 TL
  • 2nd → 2,000 TL
  • 3rd → 3,000 TL
  • 4th → 4,000 TL
  • 5th → 6,000 TL
  • 6th → 80,000 TL + license suspension

🚗 Driving Without a License

  • No license → 40,000 TL
  • Suspended or revoked license → 200,000 TL
  • Vehicle owner → 40,000 TL

🏎️ Aggressive Driving and Stunts

  • Dangerous maneuvers → 90,000 TL + license suspension
  • Drifting → 140,000 TL
  • Motorcycle stunts → 46,000 TL

📱 Using a Phone While Driving

Fines: 5,000 → 10,000 → 20,000 TL + license suspension
