The country has entered the final stage of mandatory pet identification.
By December 31, 2025, all cat and dog owners must have their pets microchipped and registered in the system.

📍 Where to microchip and register your pet:
- City and district Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry (İl/İlçe Tarım ve Orman Müdürlükleri)
- Authorized veterinary clinics
⚠️ What will change from January 1, 2026:
- Microchipping pets over 6 months old will only be possible through government institutions
- The procedure will include administrative fines for owners
- Additional sanctions may be applied for unregistered pets
If you have a pet — it's best to check your documents in advance to avoid problems in the new year.
