Abolition of "şartlı giriş" (Conditional Entry) from February 2025

Since February 2025, the "şartlı giriş" (conditional entry) mechanism has been abolished in Turkey. This is a significant change for foreign nationals who previously could leave Turkey and return by paying a fine if they exceeded the duration of their visa-free stay or were denied a residence permit. Now, in order to return to Turkey, it will be necessary to wait for the next visa-free period depending on the nationality.

Maximum visa-free stay periods for citizens of various countries:

  • Ukraine: Up to 90 days within 180 days.
  • Russia: Up to 60 consecutive days, with a total stay not exceeding 90 days within 180 days.
  • Belarus: Up to 30 consecutive days, with a total stay not exceeding 90 days within a year.
  • Kazakhstan: Up to 30 consecutive days, with a total stay not exceeding 90 days within 180 days.
  • USA, Canada, Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman: Up to 90 days within 180 days.
  • EU and Schengen Area countries, the UK, Ireland: Up to 90 days within 180 days.

It is important to note that when entering Turkey, the passport's validity must be at least 120 days.

When planning your trip to Turkey, take into account the new conditions for applying for a residence permit and re-entering the country.
