Istanbul to Open 23 New Metro Stations in 2026

Istanbul, 2026 – Istanbul is expanding its metro network with 23 new stations set to open by the end of the year, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced. This expansion will improve access to key districts across the city.

New Stations by Line

The new stations will be added across four lines:

  • 🚇 Arnavutköy–Halkalı (Istanbul Airport line): 5 stations
  • 🚇 Bursa Emek–City Hospital line: 3 stations
  • 🚇 Altunizade–Çamlıca–Bosna Boulevard line: 4 stations
  • 🚇 Gebze–Darıca line: 11 stations

Current Network Statistics

  • 🚉 Existing stations: 238
  • 📏 Current network length: 445.6 km
  • 👥 Daily ridership: 932,000 passengers
📊 Expansion Impact: With 238 existing stations covering 445.6 km, the expansion will extend the metro network to 487.1 km by the end of 2026, making travel across the city faster and more convenient.
