Strict Smoking Ban Introduced in Alanya’s Public Areas

Alanya Introduces Strict Smoking Ban in Public Areas

Alanya has introduced a strict smoking ban under new regulations issued by the Ministry of Health. According to the updated rules, children’s playgrounds, public beaches, and seaside promenades are now officially designated as smoke-free zones.

These areas have been classified as so-called “red line” zones, where smoking is completely prohibited without exceptions.

Enforcement and Inspections

The enforcement of the new regulations will be carried out by:

  • Police units,
  • Municipal services,
  • Special inspection teams.

Authorities have stated that inspections will be conducted regularly and rigorously, particularly in areas with high tourist activity.

Goals of the Ban

Experts emphasize that the new measure aims to protect children from the harmful effects of passive smoking, including respiratory illnesses such as asthma. In addition, the ban is expected to reduce environmental pollution and contribute to cleaner, more comfortable public and resort areas.

Local officials believe the initiative will improve overall public health standards and enhance the quality of life for both residents and visitors in Alanya.
