E-commerce giant Amazon to enter Turkish market

U.S.-based e-commerce giant Amazon is in negotiations to enter the Turkish market. According to a report in Dünya Executive, Amazon is in contact with government officials in Ankara.

Moreover, the report also stated that the company may make a greenfield investment or may also take an existing company.
 
Reportedly, Amazon is already in contact with some private sector officials.
In 2016, the share of e-commerce in Turkish trade was 3.5 percent and the volume of e-commerce was TL 17.5 billion ($5 billion).

Founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994, Amazon.com entered the world of online shopping by selling books and later on expanded its scope to a wide range of products and services.
