The Turkish delegation was led by Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Omer Arisa. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Mikhail Portnoi. According to Mikhail Portnoi, Turkey is one of the target markets where Belarus has been efficiency working. “The signed joint program envisages steps and our further actions on a mutual increase of tourist flows,” he said. Turkey is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Belarusian tourists. “Turkey is interesting for cooperation in tourism not only as a region well-known for its holiday resorts but also as a country with a rich experience in hotel business and tourism industry,” Mikhail Portnoi said.

The Turkish deputy culture and tourism minister stressed that Belarus is a country attractive to Turkish tourists, who are, first of all, interested in medical and eco-tourism. “We would like to develop relations with Belarus in tourism. Tourist flows between our countries can be increased. The main goal is to increase the number of flights. During the fifth meeting of the mixed Belarus-Turkey commission on tourism representatives of government bodies and travel industry of the two countries discussed mutual cooperation, ways to increase tourist flows, investment and flights between the countries.
