Turkey is to move to 5G

Turkey is striving to be in the number of the countries that will be the first to move to 5G technology application. Turkish authorities amended the tender conditions in regard to telecommunication technologies of 4G that is scheduled in the country in the closest time. It was reported by Omer Fatih Sayan, Head of Information Technologies Department. Now at the end of August, the county will hold a tender on the new 4.5G technology application.

According to Mr. Sayan, Turkish authorities want to apply 4.5G technology immediately in order to move to 5G in time. Thus, it is planned to successfully jump over the period of 4G in the country. Even in April 2015, the Turkish President suggested to omit all intermediate stages and move from 3G to 5G. “While we are engaged in 4G distribution, 5G will actively exist in the whole world. We shall arm ourselves with patience and use 3G for several years to move to 5G. Don’t doubt, Turkey will be able to do it”, - said Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
