10 million colors: The Tulip Festival starts in Istanbul

On April 1st, the traditional Istanbul Tulip Festival (Lale Festivali) started in Istanbul.  The festival is being held for the 13th time, this year, there are more than 10 million tulips planted in the largest parks of Istanbul. In total, 200 different varieties of flowers will be presented. The bright festival will last a month, and all of its main events will be held in the park of Emirgan.

By tradition, the largest carpet of tulips will be created. Recall that, last year, its area occupied more than 1700 square meters.

Within the framework of the festival, various events will be held in Istanbul like beach football and tennis tournaments.

Every year, this gorgeous event attracts tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world.
