Turkey set a housing record: with almost 1.5 million sales

In 2017, 1,409,314 housing units were sold in Turkey. And this is the absolute annual record for all time sales in the housing sector of the country.

According to the institute of Statics of Turkey (TÜİK), the real estate sale to foreign citizens grew 22%, compared to 2016: all the foreigners purchased 22.234 housing units.

It should be noted that real estate sales to Russians have significantly increased: they bypassed Europeans and Arab residents, they entered the top five buyers of Turkish real estate. In total, Russian citizens purchased 1331 properties in Turkey over the past year.

Most of the housing was sold in Istanbul, Antalya and Bursa. Experts note that this year, the real estate sales will continue to grow.
