The schoolchildren of Turkey are being fed raisins – 10 berries of health

The Cabinet of Ministers of Turkey issued a decree according to which new rules for students of preparatory groups and primary classes of schools were introduced.

Now, twice a week, the children will be given 25 grams of raisins – it’s about 10 to 20 dried berries, depending on their size. Therefore, the children will develop healthy eating habits and they will get used to eating useful dried fruits from a very young age.

Note that the program will not operate in all schools: the exact list will be determined by the Ministry of National Education of Turkey.

The program is voluntary: if the parents are against their children eating dried grapes or the child has a medical contra-indication, then he/she is excluded from the program.
