Türkiye and Poland Deepen Defense Industry Ties

Türkiye and Poland Move to Strengthen Defense Industry Cooperation

Türkiye and Poland have taken new steps toward deepening their defense industry partnership following high-level talks held in Warsaw between senior defense officials.

Turkey’s Defense Industries Secretary Haluk Görgün met with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in military technologies and industrial development.

The discussions focused on strengthening existing collaboration and exploring new opportunities in key areas such as unmanned systems, technology transfer, operational experience sharing, and mutual investment initiatives.

Both sides underlined that cooperation between the two NATO allies continues to develop on the basis of strong political relations and shared security priorities.

Focus on Unmanned Systems and Technology Exchange

A major part of the talks was dedicated to unmanned aerial systems, including potential cooperation on the use and development of Bayraktar UAV technologies. The sides also discussed improving operational capabilities, exchanging field experience, and expanding joint technical work.

Officials emphasized the importance of closer integration between Türkiye’s and Poland’s defense industry ecosystems, with a focus on innovation, modernization, and long-term industrial cooperation.

“In the spirit of NATO solidarity and a shared sense of responsibility, we exchanged views on further strengthening the strategic partnership between our two countries.”

Investment and Industrial Cooperation

The agenda also included discussions on increasing mutual investments and developing stronger links between defense manufacturers in both countries.

Polish officials highlighted that military, political, and industrial cooperation is progressing positively, with particular attention given to expanding drone-related capabilities.

They also noted that further growth in cooperation is expected if Turkish investments in Poland and Polish investments in Türkiye continue to develop as planned.

Strategic Outlook

The Warsaw talks are expected to contribute to strengthening long-term defense cooperation between the two NATO allies and may open new areas of partnership in the defense technology sector.

This engagement reflects a broader effort by both countries to enhance industrial capacity and reinforce their strategic alignment within NATO.
