Türkiye and Poland Strengthen Defence Industry Cooperation
Türkiye and Poland are expanding cooperation in the defence industry, with Turkish technology company ASELSAN and Polish manufacturer AMZ-KUTNO developing a new model for integrating advanced Turkish systems into Polish military platforms.
The latest agreement was signed during the MSPO 2026 International Defence Industry Exhibition and involves the delivery of additional ARSUS reconnaissance and surveillance systems to the Polish Armed Forces.
ASELSAN Systems to Be Integrated into Polish Vehicles
Under the new agreement, Poland will receive 24 additional ARSUS systems, with deliveries scheduled for 2028–2029.
The systems will be integrated into LOTR Kleszcz light armoured reconnaissance vehicles produced by AMZ-KUTNO and based on the BÓBR 3 chassis.
The project combines Turkish electronic and sensor technologies with a Polish-made armoured platform.
What Is the ARSUS 100 System?
ASELSAN’s ARSUS 100 is an integrated reconnaissance and surveillance system designed to provide long-range observation and target identification.
The compact system combines several technologies, including:
- 📡 Radar for long-range object detection
- 🔭 Optoelectronic sensors for identification and recognition
- 🧭 An inertial navigation system
- 🎯 Track-While-Scan capabilities for monitoring multiple targets
- 🔄 360-degree surveillance coverage
The system can operate during both day and night and in challenging weather conditions. It can also automatically transmit the coordinates of detected targets to a command centre through command-and-control systems.
From Equipment Sales to Industrial Cooperation
The latest project reflects a broader change in Polish-Turkish defence relations.
Poland’s cooperation with the Turkish defence industry became more visible after the country purchased Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles in 2021. At that stage, the relationship largely followed a traditional buyer-and-seller model.
The ASELSAN and AMZ-KUTNO project represents a different approach. Instead of purchasing a complete Turkish platform, Poland is integrating Turkish sensors and electronic systems into a domestically produced armoured vehicle.
ASELSAN Expands Its Role in Poland
While Türkiye’s defence industry in Poland is often associated with Baykar and its unmanned aerial vehicles, ASELSAN is gaining a stronger position through its expertise in radar systems, optoelectronics, electronic warfare, command and control, air defence and anti-drone technologies.
In June 2026, a Polish delegation led by President Karol Nawrocki visited ASELSAN’s facilities in Ankara. The visit included presentations of electronic warfare and air defence technologies, as well as discussions about the company’s production capabilities.
A New Model for Türkiye-Poland Cooperation
The ARSUS 100 programme could become an example of a wider industrial partnership between Türkiye and Poland, particularly if Turkish electronics and defence technologies continue to be integrated with Polish platforms.
The development highlights the growing role of technology integration and industrial cooperation in Türkiye-Poland relations, moving beyond the traditional model of defence equipment imports.
