Kyrgyzstan and China Sign Eternal Good-Neighbor Treaty

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and President of China Xi Jinping signed a treaty on eternal good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The Kyrgyz presidential press service announced this on Monday, August 31.

The leaders of the two countries signed a treaty on eternal good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China.

Following their talks, Sadyr Japarov and Xi Jinping also signed a joint declaration of Kyrgyzstan and China on the high-quality development of their comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era.

Kyrgyzstan and China Sign 32 Documents

The talks between the leaders of the two countries concluded with the signing of 32 documents covering various areas of bilateral cooperation.

Among the documents signed were agreements between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and China concerning the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border, as well as the construction of a new road border bridge.

The bridge is planned to be built through the Bedel checkpoint on the state border. The structure will cross the Uzongu-Kuush border river.

Xi Jinping’s State Visit to Kyrgyzstan

Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Kyrgyzstan on a state visit. His talks with Sadyr Japarov were part of the visit’s program and focused on the further development of relations between the two countries.

The signing of the treaty on eternal good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation is intended to strengthen the long-term nature of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and China and further develop their comprehensive strategic partnership.
