The project is expected to create up to 414,000 better-paying jobs and boost manufacturing, agriculture, and services.
Financing and Support
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said total favorable financing for the project could reach $6.75B, with additional support from international institutions.
“This strategic investment will strengthen Türkiye’s role as a logistics hub and enhance rail infrastructure efficiency,” said Humberto Lopez, World Bank country director.
The World Bank emphasized its commitment to sustainable, resilient infrastructure supporting inclusive growth and regional integration.
