Alanya Could Become the World's Leading Dragon Fruit Supplier
Alanya continues to strengthen its position as one of Turkey's leading regions for tropical fruit production. A total of 25 tropical fruit growers have received internationally recognized GlobalGAP and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certificates with the support of the West Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA).
The certifications will help local producers expand exports and meet the strict quality and food safety standards required by international markets.

According to Ali Hüddoğlu, President of the Tropical Fruit Producers Union, demand for pitahaya (dragon fruit) continues to increase across Europe.
While the harvesting season is ending in many competing countries, the season in Alanya is only beginning, creating a valuable export opportunity for local producers.
The unique harvesting calendar allows growers in the region to supply fresh dragon fruit when availability in other producing countries becomes limited.
