The Turkish Historical Society has launched a free mobile application called Türk Tarih Sözlüğü, expanding digital access to historical terms, concepts and reference materials.

🏛️ What Is the Türk Tarih Sözlüğü?
The mobile dictionary was developed by the Turkish Historical Society (TTK) as a digital extension of its Encyclopedic Dictionary of Turkish History.
The dictionary was first made available on the institution’s website in April as part of events marking the 95th anniversary of the Turkish Historical Society.
The project was developed over a period of two years under the supervision of a special academic commission established within the Scientific Council of the Turkish Historical Society.

According to TTK President Yüksel Özgen, the resource contains encyclopedic information about historical terms, expressions and concepts.
In addition to information about the origins of historical terms, the dictionary provides detailed explanations of the concepts themselves.

📊 Around 10,000 Articles Planned
The Turkish Historical Society plans to include approximately 10,000 articles in the dictionary.
Yüksel Özgen provided an update on the current progress of the project:
- 📝 Around 10,000 articles have been identified for the project.
- ✍️ Around 5,000 articles have already been assigned to authors.
- 🔬 Around 2,500 articles have been written and are currently undergoing academic review.
- 📚 Around 1,000 articles are already available to users.
⏳ The remaining articles are expected to be added progressively as the project develops.
