Istanbul to Host UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2027

🇹🇷 Istanbul will host the 49th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2027. Türkiye will chair the session, and preparations for the international event have already begun.

International heritage meeting in Istanbul

Representatives from different countries will meet to discuss the protection and preservation of cultural and natural World Heritage sites, as well as international cooperation in this field.

Special attention will also be given to promoting Türkiye’s cultural heritage. International media are expected to participate, while additional events dedicated to World Heritage will take place alongside the main program.

Preparations are already underway

📍 Istanbul will select a suitable congress center to host the session. The city will also establish the necessary infrastructure for participant accreditation and live broadcasts of the meetings.
