Türkiye’s First Domestic Smartphone Set to Launch in 2027

🇹🇷 Türkiye is preparing to launch its first domestically developed smartphone in 2027. ASELSAN, Türk Telekom and TTT İnovasyon are reportedly working together on a new range of Turkish-made mobile devices.

The project is expected to include three different smartphone models designed for different groups of users, from government institutions to the mass consumer market.

📱 Three Turkish smartphone models are planned

• 🔐 Special version — a secure smartphone with domestic encryption technology, primarily intended for government officials and public institutions.
• 📱 Basic version — a more affordable device designed for the mass market.
• ✨ Premium version — an advanced flagship model with additional features and higher specifications.

🛰️ Satellite communication for emergencies

One of the most notable planned features of the new smartphones is satellite communication.

The technology is intended to provide a communication option during emergencies, earthquakes and other situations in which conventional mobile networks may become unavailable or overloaded.

🚗 Integration with Togg electric vehicles

The planned devices are also expected to be integrated with Togg, Türkiye's domestic electric vehicle brand. This could allow smartphones to interact with vehicles and become part of a wider connected technology ecosystem.

Other planned features reportedly include water and dust resistance, as well as additional security technologies designed for different categories of users.

💻 Türkiye is also planning its own operating system

The project goes beyond smartphone hardware. One of the longer-term plans is the development of a domestic mobile operating system.

If implemented, this would give Türkiye greater control over the software infrastructure used by its smartphones and could reduce dependence on foreign technology providers.

🏭 Production planned in Istanbul

Production of the smartphones is planned to begin at a factory in Istanbul. The first model expected to enter the market will be the version designed for government institutions.

The consumer-focused basic and premium models are expected to follow as the project develops.
