Türkiye Launches Train Seat Availability Alerts

Türkiye Launches Train Seat Availability Alerts

Passengers travelling by train in Türkiye no longer need to constantly check ticket availability for sold-out services. TCDD has launched a new feature that allows passengers to receive notifications when a seat becomes available.

Passengers Can Get Alerts When Seats Become Available

If tickets for a preferred train are sold out, passengers can now leave their email address in the system and receive a notification if a seat becomes available following a ticket cancellation or refund.

The new feature can make it easier to find tickets for popular train services without repeatedly checking the booking system.

After receiving the notification, passengers will still need to log into the system themselves and complete the ticket purchase.

Electronic Tickets and E-Invoices Introduced

Türkiye has also started using electronic tickets and electronic invoices across its railway system.

The new system came into use on September 1. During the first four days, approximately 286,000 electronic tickets were issued.

Digitalisation of Türkiye’s Railway System

The new seat availability notification service and electronic ticketing system are part of the continued digitalisation of railway services in Türkiye.

For passengers, the new alert function provides a more convenient way to follow ticket availability, while electronic tickets and invoices simplify the documentation process.
