Türkiye’s Gold Reserves Soar to 702 Tons, VP Confirms
Türkiye's Gold Reserves Reach 702 Tons, Vice President Confirms
Türkiye's gold reserves have surged to 702 tons, worth approximately $100 billion, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz announced.
Yilmaz emphasized that the Central Bank has managed the reserves more efficiently in recent years, following an active policy in line with economic needs. Currency liquidity has increased, and gold reserves were strengthened without using "swap" operations.
A decade ago, Türkiye's gold reserves stood at 377 tons, valued at $14 billion. The growth reflects both strategic reserve management and rising global gold prices, boosting the country's financial stability.
"The increase in gold reserves has strengthened Türkiye's overall reserve position and enhanced its resilience in the global economy," Yilmaz added.
